Meet the Instructor
Hello, and welcome! My name is Philip Carr, and I’m thrilled to be your guide on this exciting artistic journey. With over 15 years of experience in both fine art and animation, I bring a rich blend of knowledge, creativity, and passion to my teaching. My background combines formal education in fine arts with a professional career Teaching fine arts, allowing me to offer a well-rounded and practical approach to art.
My Fine Art Education & Experience:
I began my artistic journey by studying Fine art and Digital animation at Durham College, where I honed my skills in traditional techniques like drawing, painting, and sculpture. My education provided me with a strong foundation in artistic principles, from color theory to composition, and I’ve since continued to expand my expertise through personal projects and continuous learning.
A Diverse Artistic Background:
Whether it’s drawing with pencils, creating vibrant watercolor paintings, or working with the bold strokes of acrylic paints, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of artistic mediums over the years. My passion for teaching comes from my desire to share everything I’ve learned with others—especially those who may think that it’s too late to start their own artistic journey.
Through my classes, I aim to create a supportive and fun learning environment where students of all levels can grow, explore, and discover their inner artist. My goal is not just to teach techniques, but to help you develop your own personal style and feel confident in your ability to create something beautiful.
I’m excited to help you discover the joy of art and the endless possibilities that come with every brushstroke and pencil mark. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you!
Let’s create something amazing together!
